Just pour some liquid down there and voila! The clog is gone. But that\u2019s not quite how it works. Clogs can be insidious in the sense that even though you can get rid of them for a while, they just come back. That is, if you aren\u2019t using the right drain cleaning practices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you hear the term \u201cplumbing problem\u201d you probably think\nof water flooding the floors, or a persistent drip coming from one of your\nfaucets that you just can\u2019t seem to repair. These are, of course, certainly\nworth a call to a plumber in their own right, but so too is a clogged or backed\nup drain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cWhy Can\u2019t I Just Handle It Myself?\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We understand this temptation, especially when there are so many\nDIY videos online and savvy homeowners out there. Why not just pull up an\ninstructional video, and do it yourself? Hiring a pro is expensive anyway,\nright? Drain cleaners you can get at the store are so much more convenient. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The problem with these store-bought \u201csolutions\u201d is that they\nare very caustic and not eco-friendly, nor are they healthy if you get liquid\ndrain cleaner on you or breathe it in. Not only that, but they aren\u2019t likely to\neffectively <em>remove <\/em>the entire clog\njust enough of it to let a little cleaner through and then some water flow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can usually rent or purchase a hand operated drain snake\nfrom the store, but you still run the risk of forcing the snake through the\nclog and not actually removing it. Plus, you aren\u2019t addressing anything that\nmight be going on deeper along the drainpipe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why It\u2019s Time to Call the Pros<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only do our professional plumbers have the experience\nand skills that an amateur can\u2019t possess, but they also have the appropriate\nequipment to effectively locate your clog and permanently remove it. This eliminates\nguesswork altogether\u2014and our job isn\u2019t done until we ensure we\u2019ve done a\ncomplete job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have a couple of different methods we use for effectively removing clogs. One is the use of a professional grade drain snake, that has an auger on the end that we guide down and pull the clog out with. The other method is hydro-jetting. This is used for tougher clogs, and utilizes a multidirectional sprayer head on an auger that scours the drainpipes. This is especially helpful for hardened material that\u2019s attached itself to the drainpipe walls, like limescale or even tree roots in the case of your sewer line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t leave your drainage system to chance.
