Read on to learn more! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Loose Wires<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you one of the many homeowners who have an electric\nfurnace in the home? There\u2019s good news! Electric furnaces have far fewer repair\nneeds over their service life than gas furnaces do. However, they <em>do <\/em>have specific problems, like if wires\nbecome loose due to the shaking of the air handler. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A loose wire can cause a short and trip a circuit breaker\u2014this\nis what happens in most cases. However, electrical issues are never something\nto mess with as they do have the potential to create a fire hazard. If you\u2019re\nconstantly resetting the circuit breaker to your electric furnace, then it\u2019s\ntime to get the system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Broken Sequencer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A broken sequencer is another repair issue that is unique to\nelectric furnaces. The sequencer is the component that staggers the activation\nof the various electric heating elements within the furnace, so that they don\u2019t\nall come on at once and overload your electrical panel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If this sequencer malfunctions or breaks down, not all the\nheating elements will turn on. <em>Or, <\/em>they\nwon\u2019t turn on at all. This means your furnace simply will not be able to heat!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Failed Electronic Ignition System<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This can actually impact an electric <em>or <\/em>a gas-powered furnace system. That\u2019s right\u2014modern gas furnaces\ndon\u2019t all use a standing pilot light anymore to ignite the burners. Instead, there\nis an electronic ignition system within them that creates a spark to light the\nburners, or heat up filaments like inside a lightbulb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This ignition system can fail (like a lightbulb) and the\nfurnace\u2019s safety switch will stop the burners from coming on. If your gas\nfurnace simply won\u2019t turn on, the ignition system could definitely be to blame.\nGive us a call so we can diagnose the issue and replace the ignition switch if\nneeded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Loss of Connection to the Thermostat<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This can happen to either an electric or gas-powered\nfurnace. It can also happen with your air conditioner or heat pump system!\nThere are a set of wires that run from the thermostat to your furnace to\nactivate the burners when the temperature drops below what you have it set to.\nIf the connection to the electric board is lost, though, the thermostat won\u2019t\nbe able to signal the system to turn on. <em>Or\n<\/em>alternatively the furnace won\u2019t receive a signal to turn off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn\u2019t a problem to try to diagnose on your own.
