It can be caused by a number\nof different problems, but it all comes down to two main issues\u2014there\u2019s either\na blockage or a leak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A slow decline in water pressure over an extended period of\ntime signals a growing leak or blockage. But a sudden decline in water pressure\nmeans you have a sudden leak\u2014probably a pipe rupture\u2014and you should call us\nright away. Regardless of which you\u2019re experiencing, it\u2019s never a bad idea to\ncall a plumber! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">High Water Bills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We get it, this is kind of subjective. But what we want you\nto keep an eye out for is higher than <em>average\n<\/em>water bills. If your water bills are seemingly rising beyond what\u2019s normal\nfor this time of the year, then it might very well mean that you have a leak\nsomewhere in the system. If your monthly bills indicate you\u2019re using way more\nwater than you actually are, it\u2019s time to call a plumber. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Running Water Meter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One fairly simple way to see if your plumbing system has a\nleak is to check your water meter. Turn off all the plumbing appliances, and\nmake sure nobody turns on a faucet or flushes the toilets. Then see if your\nwater meter is still running. If it is, then there is water still leaving your\nsystem from somewhere, and that means there is a leak that needs to be\nrepaired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visible Signs of Water Damage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While we hope this is never the case for our customers,\nsometimes the best sign of a leak is visible signs of water damage. You might\nsee a spot on your flooring, wet carpet, a stain on your drywall or up on your\nceiling\u2014these are all signs of leaks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pinhole leaks, in particular, tend to happen in older pipes.\nIf your home was built 30 or more years ago and you\u2019ve never had repiping done,\nthen the pipe materials can be old enough that they\u2019re beginning to corrode and\nstart leaking.
