What Is the Best Humidifier to Get?

You may be surprised we’re even talking about whole house humidifiers. After all, we’re known for having too much moisture, right? At least, that’s the case in the summer time. That’s what makes our long, uncomfortable days even worse. But too little humidity can be just as bad in the winter. Consistently low moisture levels can cause property damage as well as health problems.

Upon first glance, this might just seem like a minor inconvenience rather than a huge problem. However, it makes you and your family more susceptible to germs, which means the cold or flue could easily make its way through your home. A whole-house humidifier, however, adds the much needed moisture to your home when levels drop too low.

Do You Need a Dehumidifier Installation?

If you have any hope of keeping your Johns Creek home as comfortable as possible this summer and beyond, then yes, you need a whole-house dehumidifier installed. Your air conditioner does have some dehumidification properties, since humidity drops when temperature drops. However, your cooling system was not designed for this purpose and if you rely on it too heavily for dehumidification, you could find that it breaks down far sooner than it was supposed to.

In addition to possible AC system danger, too much humidity encourages the growth of mold and mildew. This threatens the integrity of your Johns Creek home, and can also cause health concerns, especially if household members already suffer from allergies or asthma.

Do You Need Humidifier or Dehumidifier Repair?

Whole-house humidity control systems are very convenient, being installed directly into your ducts where they’ll be out of sight, but will help control problems like mold buildup and other property damage. However, just like any other system, they are not immune to problems.

If you hear funny noises coming from your system or your home feels too moist (or too dry) please give us a call so we can have our service professionals check it out. We also recommend having this checked during your maintenance session each year!
